DDD SERVICE AWARD NEWS
The Delta Division Distinguished Service Award (DDDSA) is presented to
an amateur radio operator residing within the Delta Division who over
time has advanced the art of radio communications or demonstrated
meritorious service to the ham radio community or to the general
public. Nominations should be submitted directly to your Section
Manager as described in the rules at http://arrldelta.org/?page_id=40
http://arrldelta.org/?page_id=40 and are due no later than November 1.
The DDDSA Selection Committee consists of W5RZ, WE4MB, and W5EW. The
past winners of the DDDSA are AB5WF, WA5LQZ (SK), and W4NL.
Last Saturday during the SEDCO/W4DXCC Convention in Pigeon Forge, TN,
it was my privilege to present the DDDSA plaque to this year’s
recipient, Lynn Lamb W4NL. Lynn’s nomination package was most
impressive and his selection as this year’s recipient was announced
late last year. Because Lynn was unable to attend the 2011 Delta
Division Convention this past January in Hammond, LA, his plaque was
presented during the 2011 SEDCO/W4DXCC Convention, an event W4NL
co-founded. (A picture of Lynn with his DDDSA plaque should be posted
on the division website soon.)
